Hierarchy Results on Stateless Multicounter 5′ → 3′ Watson-Crick Automata

چکیده
We consider stateless counter machines which mix the features of one-head counter machines and a special type of two-head Watson-Crick automata (WK-automata). Our biologically motivated machines have heads that read the input starting from the two extremes. The reading process is finished when there are no more symbols between the heads. Depending on whether the heads are required to advance at each move, we distinguish between realtime and non-realtime machines. If every counter makes at most k alternations between nondecreasing and decreasing modes in every computation, then the machine is k-reversal. In this paper we concentrate on the properties of nondeterministic stateless WK-automata with counters. Results about deterministic versions can be found in (Eğecioğlu et al.: Stateless multicounter 5′ → 3′ Watson-Crick Automata, BIC-TA 2010).

The model we consider are stateless counter machines which mix the features of one-head counter machines and special two-head Watson-Crick automata (WK-automata). These biologically motivated machines have reading heads that read the input starting from the two extremes. The reading process is finished when the heads meet. The machine is realtime or non-realtime depending on whether the heads a...
متن کامل5′→ 3′ Sensing Watson-Crick Finite Automata
DNA computers provide new paradigms of computing (Păun et al., 1998). They appeared at the end of the last century. In contrast, the theory of finite automata is well developed and intensively used in both theory and practice. The Watson-Crick automata, introduced in (Freund et al., 1997), relate to both fields. They are important in the field of (DNA) computing and have important relation to f...
متن کامل5' → 3' Watson-Crick Automata with Several Runs
5′ → 3′ WK-automata are Watson-Crick automata whose two heads start on opposite ends of the input word and always run in opposite directions. One full reading in both directions is called a run. We prove that the automatas’ power increases with every run more they can make. This defines an infinite hierarchy of language classes between the regular and the context-sensitive languages. This hiera...
متن کاملA Survey of Results on Stateless Multicounter Automata
A stateless multicounter machine has m-counters operating on a one-way input delimited by left and right end markers. A move of the machine depends only on the symbol under the input head and the sign pattern of the counters. An input string is accepted if, when the input head is started on the left end marker with all counters zero, the machine eventually reaches the configuration where the in...
